VMware and its development steps in 2022
Undoubtedly, one of the most talked about recent VMware news is the confirmation of Broadcom’s integration with VMware. There have been many questions, especially for its customers.
VMware’s CEO and President, Hock Tan, has given answers and points out that “VMware develops technology for the future and addresses a growing market. Broadcom’s business plan for this transaction is to focus on the business model, on increasing research and development and on working to make customers see the value of the full portfolio with the innovative product offerings out there, not on raising prices.”
To the concern of some about a possible price hike as a result of the new alliance, Hock Tan expressed that “after the transaction closes, we will invest and innovate in VMware’s products so we can sell them even more and better, and we will grow VMware’s business within enterprises, deepening and expanding its footprint, rather than, potentially, raising prices.”

Tanzu app development product portfolio.
In the new alliance, resulting from the merger with Broadcom, customers will be able to enjoy the privileges of the Tanzu App Development Product Portfolio. Hock Tan said it will be: “as a strategic part of VMware’s software portfolio, and will continue to be so as we move forward with Broadcom. VMware Tanzu customers are running some of the world’s most mission-critical applications. As customers think about future investments in cloud-native applications and the modern application development space, they should be confident in Broadcom’s commitment going forward.”
